20 Kids Killed In School Shooting In Ct.

Twenty young kids will not be returning to the home they left this morning for school. A number of parents will never see their child alive again. Instead, their child will never be returning home, ever again, they will be returning to the heavens above with the angels. Left are shattered dreams, lives and a sad reminder of grief stricken parents and classmates by their lost child and friend in this act of violence.

My heart is heavy with grief pouring out today as I stood in line at the bank after work. As I watched the news on CNN, I was faced with the harsh reality of yet again another senseless act of shooting in America, especially in school of all places. We think we send our kids to school to receive an education, a safe place and of higher learning, but we are faced with the sad reality of death.

My heart skipped a beat knowing I am a father of two and one of them is a ten year old elementary school child. This could have been her, I was too shocked and saddened by the news. As I got home and begin to read more of t he story online, I began to cry knowing how difficult it must be on the parents of these kids. The devastation of the surviving kids, this must ruined the life of these kids forever, knowing they were witness to such a horrific crime and seeing their classmate dying or being critically wounded. It is just too much for a child to experience at such a young age. My heart goes out to the surviving kids, they need help, such as therapy, counselling to help with this act of violence they have been a witness to on this sad day.

I grieve for the parents who will never hold their child again, who will never get to talk to her child, kiss her/him, tuck him in at night or to play a game or read a simple book. The parents will grieve forever over the loss of her child. This Christmas will never be the same. Imagine a gift already under the Christmas tree which will never be opened by that child. It's a sad reminder that he is gone and therefore, not able to open that gift. Christmas will not be the same for many of these parents. Words of comfort is what they need for a painful loss they have experienced by some disturbed individual who committed such mass casualty today.

Yes women love gifts too. Despite being the working woman, the everything around the home, from being busy with the baby, active in the kitchen, laundry, doing home work with the kids and everything else. Yes she needs down time to rest and gather thoughts, but most off all she sometimes expects and deserves a gift.

Today I will take the time to examine a few wonderful gifts a woman appreciates. These are just my thoughts, from a man's perspective, you may disagree with me but that's ok. I prefer beauty stuff because those are some of the things my wife is into, such as facials, scented lotions and other essentials. Be sure to navigate into other areas because women love to be surprised, in other words you can be some what extraordinary by branching out into other territories which will surprise her, they all love surprises.

Today is my chance to surprise her and that I will certainly do. She doesn't complain much and even if she does she will not tell me. What do you think of my gift ideas, what do you suggest?
My goal is to make her Christmas special as well.

12/12/12 Lucky or Unlucky?

12/12/12 A unique day many of us waited for over some period time. It was certainly highlighted on my calendar since 10/101/10, then came 11/11/11. I thought they were all unique. It certainly will be a long time before such numbers come around again, it almost assures we will not be around to have to witness or experience it.

With this day mark 13 days left before Christmas. Many of us are into the holiday spirit and enjoying ourselves. Some of us are shopping, enjoying family and sight seeing of the beautiful Christmas lights, parks and holiday functions. I use it as a reflection day, to look back on they year that has passed us by and wonder if next year will be a better year. We can only hope and pray for the best as we navigate to the end of this year.

As for now I will continue my journey to make this Christmas as wonderful as one could for his family. I would love to see big smiles on my children's face, as well as my wife, that would be the most exciting moment of this holiday. For the kids gifts bring them joy at this time of year and joy is what I promise to deliver.

Do You Favor One Child More Than The Other(s)?

 
I am a father, a proud father and I know that I love both of my children the same. However, my wife tends to beg to differ. She always accuses me of favoritism of one more than the other. I told her it's not true and honestly it is not the case.


My son talks and interact with me more, if he needs something he asks for it. My daughter on the other hand never asks for anything but she adores me just as much as I adore her. They are two loving children, they are my kids and I love them the same. We often go fishing , play on the park and take long walks together. Weekends are often game nights, it's the time we get to play games and spend quality time as a family. 


I am sure some parents probably do have favorites but this is something I could or would never do, I LOVE both of them the same. The greatest joy is having them around me and waking up each morning and seeing their beautiful faces. There are absolutely NO favoritism's, my love is real, my love is unique but, most of all I love them equally.
